Are there any young women who chose to live with their father instead of their mother?

There was a huge custody battle when I was 12 and for some reason I chose to live with my dad. I love them both equally and one parent was going to be hurt in the end. As a woman, I feel like I missed out on alot of things I could have learned from biological mother. My relationship with my stepmom was rough when I was younger and has somewhat improved, but I will never feel for her what I feel for my real mom. I'm 24 now and I feel like I'm missing alot as a woman.
