How do I get medical marijuana from a state I am not resident?

I have debilitating fibromyalgia. I am on disability and no longer practice my profession. A family member found an article about the use of marijuana for this condition. I am eager and open to try this, as pain relievers have done very little for me in my three year fight against crippling pain, fatigue, and loss of sleep. I need info on getting medical marijuana. Where? How? I live in Iowa and it is not dispensed here.
