Can I ever be friends with this EX?

MY BF of 7 months and I were casual friends for about one year before we started dating -- one night we made out, he professed his love and we started going strong very quickly. Three months later, he started acting very selfish and immature -- breaking plans, not being romantic, acting distant. When asked what was wrong, he said I was insecure and needy. I tried to do things differently, give him space -- but he would often make really hurtful comments and then roll his eyes when I would get annoyed. So I after many frustrated montand broke up with him -- he agreed and said he missed our friendship. I said we could try to be friends again, but give it some time. One month later, he asked for me back, saying he took me for granted, and we should try again. I reluctantly agreed because I really do love him. Five days later, he broke up with me, saying he was selfish, immature and confused. He missed our friendship! I am devastated and cannot move on now. Is friendship even possibl
